# The Investors tab

The Investors tab is where you manage a raise. Alongside the investor list, its 14 sections cover moving money, paying fees, and closing the deal.

1. **Tab row** Moves between the deal's 13 tabs, from Overview to Support.
2. **Section list** Lists the 14 sections, including Closes, Capital Calls, and Distributions, with a number beside any section that has open items.
3. **View controls** Let you switch between table and Kanban layouts, export the list, or filter it.
4. **Search investors** Finds an investor by typing any part of their name.
5. **Status filters** Filter the table to one investor status, so you can see everyone at the same stage of the raise.
6. **Status and KYC** Show how far each investor has progressed with the paperwork and whether their identity checks have cleared.
7. **Row actions** Hold five icon controls at the end of each row, each showing its name on hover.
8. **Subscription Amount Change Requests** Lists pending requests from investors to change their amount, matching the number shown beside it in the section list.

### The 14 sections

A section with open items shows the number of items beside its name.

1. **Investors:** The investor table, which opens by default when you select the tab.
2. **Amount Change Requests:** Requests to change a subscription amount, with the number outstanding shown beside the name.
3. **Assets:** The assets this deal buys, with their type, location, and valuation.
4. **Banking:** The deal's bank accounts and balances.
5. **Wire Recipients:** The people and companies you can send money to.
6. **Wire Requests:** Requests to move money out of the deal's account, with their approvals.
7. **Fee Recipients:** The recipients of fees, kept in their own list beside wire recipients.
8. **Brokers:** The brokers attached to the deal and their commission terms.
9. **Distributions:** The proceeds returned to investors from this deal.
10. **Capital Calls:** Calls that draw down capital investors have already committed.
11. **Closes:** The section where a close is requested and its progress tracked.
12. **Valuations:** The recorded valuation of this deal's holding over time.
13. **Signature Block:** The signature configuration for the deal's documents.
14. **Files:** The deal's file store, shared with the Files tab.

> **To close a deal, start in the Closes section.** Create the close and set its date there, then follow it on the Closing tab.

### Table and Kanban

Four controls sit at the top right of the investor list.

* **Table:** The default view, which shows one row per investor.
* **Kanban:** Shows the same investors as cards grouped by stage.
* **Export:** Downloads the investor list as currently filtered.
* **Filter:** Opens a panel of conditions, with the number applied shown in brackets.

> If an investor you expect is out of view, check the number on the Filter button. Clear the filters before exporting when you want every investor in the file.

### Investor statuses

The filter row lists the statuses in the order an investor moves through them: All, Invited, Viewed, Completed, Signed, Committed, and Partially Transferred.

* **Invited:** The investor has been sent the deal and is yet to open it.
* **Viewed:** The investor has opened the Invest page for the deal.
* **Completed:** The investor has finished every step of the investor flow.
* **Signed:** The investor has signed the subscription documents.
* **Committed:** The investor's commitment is recorded against the deal.
* **Partially Transferred:** Part of the commitment has moved to another holder.
* **Wired:** The investor's money has arrived.

> Wired appears in the Status column but has no filter of its own, so sort by Status to group wired investors. **Clear KYC before you close.** Status shows progress with the paperwork and money, while KYC shows whether their KYC (Know Your Customer) identity checks have cleared, so every Signed investor needs KYC cleared before you request a close.

### Row actions

Five icons sit at the end of each row: a pencil, an envelope, opposing arrows, a person, and a document. Hover over an icon to see its name.

### Amount change requests

When an investor asks to change their subscription amount, the request appears in Subscription Amount Change Requests below the investor table, and the matching section in the list shows the number outstanding.

> Respond to each request soon, because the committed amount on the Overview tab updates when you do.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.allocations.com/why-allocations/the-investors-tab.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
